Midland Special Steels website.
Midland Special Steels are a steel stockholder and supplier, based in the Midlands on the previous site of Ovako Steel in Dudley. This is a sister company to the highly successful Midland Bright Steels.
The offering of Midland Special Steels is very different, with many different grades of heavy duty steel for use in many different industries and applications. Working with the team at Ovako and Midland Bright Steels we were able to gain the technical details and knowledge needed to effectively show these online.
The site is highly technical in nature, utilising genuine images showing these steels being milled and stored, the priority was to display all grades in a simple and easy to navigate way, also ensuring the grades are specifically searchable via search engines.
The website was built incorporating a content management system for the client to make any on-site updates as needed, we worked with partners Data Innovations who are IT and Telecom solutions specialists.
Increased Mobile Compatibility.
With an increasing amount of web traffic coming from mobile (or smartphone) browsers, we implemented on-site tracking to identify mobile and desktop traffic coming into the Midland Special Steels website, identifying a 60% uplift in mobile visitors. The new web site utilises technology to check browser window size and offer content accordingly, ensuring the site works as well on mobile as on a desktop PC, laptop or tablet device.
