HD Ricketts website is the result of a need by them to invest in growth and new technology. A unique family business based in Weeford, Central England they have been bulk haulage specialists for over 50 years starting with a single vehicle, hauling aggregates and building materials.
Now one of the West Midlands largest bulk haulage companies, HD Ricketts boasts an expanding fleet of articulated tippers, 8 wheel tippers and Curtain sided HGV’s approaching 90 vehicles.
Originally based in Erdington, operations are now at a custom built headquarters at Weeford Quarry on London Road, also the location of their quarry. With the benefit of being one of the largest family run haulage businesses locally, they have now expanded to incorporate a bagging plant at Rugeley and a landfill site at Berkswell.

Expressive Design have been working with H.D. Ricketts for a number of years, providing web services and web hosting. We were briefed to revisit the company’s original web site to provide a new solution bearing in mind the growth of HDR and use of mobile technology for online searches.
With a number of additional requirements, we worked with the team to come up with fresh new site designs for approval, as well as suggestions for site structure and calls to action particularly taking into account the increase in locations, vehicle fleet and workforce. It was deemed that the old website wasn’t giving the right impression to potential clients, suppliers and future employees alike.
We were able to put together a more streamed, content managed website with a team page for each location, materials and an online quote element to help with order taking with the potential to install an ecommerce system later on for automated ordering.
Also on go-live all pages from the previous website were redirected to the new site ensuring no loss of web traffic or 404 errors from google links!
