A way out of COVID19 restrictions

A way out of COVID19 restrictions for many businesses may not be easy, given the last 18 months of varying types of restriction to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As a business operator within the Solihull and Birmingham area, with an ear to the ground we have seen many businesses weren’t looking to growth as previously, but instead concentrating on pure survival, with sales targets and projections compared to year-on-year figures now practically useless.

So what could be next?

With clients around the country and many different market sectors, some businesses turnovers remained consistent, with the only disruption being the new measures introduced to keep staff socially distanced, with some staff now having to work remotely from home. With this in mind, many business owners are now refocusing their use of technology for meetings (more video meetings), staff now working from home a number of days each week where possible and looking at the reduced need for office premises with larger square footage.

Even with new measures, adapting to use new tech and more home working, it has still been a tough time in SME country. However with a projected end to many of the measures previously introduced for our protection from the virus, we have noticed an upturn in new projects starts, more brand new SME businesses looking for branding and an increase in need in the training and employment sector to get our young, brightest and best into work too.

Getting back on track.

It is encouraging to see the diary filling up again, with more face to face meetings around the corner with businesses ready to get back on with growth, targets, projections and investment. Lessons learnt by many that at times like these when your physical business presence suffers, digital presence utilising web, social media and other digital platforms has now become a much larger part of the business digital marketing budget – with more investment in online stores, new business web sites and joined-up thinking regarding media that wasn’t previously a consideration.
